Smt. B. K. Shah Medical Institute & Research Centre (SBKS MIRC) was established in 2003 and is one of the constituent colleges of Sumandeep Vidyapeeth (Deemed-to-be University). The college is attached to the Dhiraj Hospital, a 1,000+ bed multi-speciality tertiary care teaching hospital that provides extensive clinical exposure to students. The institute offers MBBS (250 seats) along with MD, MS, DM, M.Ch., DNB, and allied health science programmes across numerous specialties. It provides comprehensive healthcare services in general medicine, general surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics & gynaecology, orthopaedics, cardiology, neurology, nephrology, oncology, anaesthesiology, radiology, pathology, emergency medicine, and critical care. The campus spans about 65 acres and includes modern lecture theatres, advanced laboratories, simulation and skills centres, a central library, hostels, research facilities, and digital learning resources, making it a prominent centre for medical education, research, and tertiary patient care in Gujarat.
